What’s the point of a blog in the mid 2020s? That’s a reasonable question.
This is mainly a record for… myself. I think that there is value to the process of writing something in my own medium, within the limitations of basic text formatting, and with the intent to publish it to the public. There are no illusions of this being read at all, let alone being shared. There are no assumptions about the audience; they could be friends, lovers, colleagues, coworkers, family, or strangers. This website and these posts merely exist, and there’s no need to read too much into any of it or force a justification.
I’m a sucker for posterity - an archivist at heart. I always look for the opportunity to take a photo, to capture a candid moment. I force myself to document the mundane. It’s worth it for the times that in hindsight I’m glad to have put in the effort. It’s difficult to ride the line between living life in the moment and making sure it’s remembered, but it’s a valiant effort that I accept I will inevitably fail at. Fundamentally, anything else would be a rejection of who I am.
So; this is going to be my space to take note of things that matter to me, and make a record of it.
